Moroccan Baker - tagine
A recipe that I received from some one at a Mediterranean store who was a chef in Morocco. I did purchase the picked lemon at the shop and did use it in the recipe. I was hesitant in using the pickled lemon as it quite frankly smelled like paint! In all fairness, he did say he preferred pickling his own lemons. The lemons did not blend with flavors and next time I would either use fresh lemons or pickle my own lemons.
A product of Eygpt
In one of my Madame Benoit books, she includes a recipe for pickled lemon . She suggests using this pickle with Port and Stilton Cheese. I can`t imagine using this jar of pickles with port and cheese.
Pickled lemon
I did cook the chicken dish at a high heat and found it most tasty

What a beautiful quote!
What a beautiful quote!
I have always admired my mother's garden. The size of her Vegeatable garden was huge, compared to my little path, that I pack with rows of vegeatbles , some planted 6 inches apart.

Fried Calamari
Returning home, our dog was barking loudly at the front window at the rabbit sitting quietly by our spruce tree.
Last night Char Cut posted this article from the Edmonton Journal on their Facebook page, suggesting that they should place rabbit on their menu!

Where do these ideas come from!!! I know growing up on the farm, that innovative ideas came from a necessity to use up product, for example garden products or using up ever part of an animal when slaughtered , but this is different.. Could be that I am not a great fan of chocolate and would rather see fruit and nuts on the brie if we must dress up brie!
